Uno Westerberg for Pukeberg Glasbruk – glass plate set, Sweden, 1960s
Swedish design classic. These plates were created in the 1960s by the renowned glass artist Uno Westerberg for the legendary Pukeberg Glasbruk, and were also produced as a commission for AEG. This is a true example of Scandinavian mid-century design – simple in form, yet highly expressive in texture.
Each plate is made of thick, clear crystal glass with the characteristic “ice glass” surface: the top is smooth and glossy, while the underside has a fine frost-like texture. In the light, the glass shimmers beautifully, making the plates resemble frozen water.
Westerberg was known for his brutalist yet poetic approach at Pukeberg during the 1950s–70s, and this model is one of his rarer tableware designs – he is more commonly known for vases and ashtrays than plates.
Perfect for desserts, appetizers, cheese, or as elegant display plates. The set is vintage, with no cracks or chips, only minor signs of use that confirm its authenticity.
