Flygsfors “Coquille” series glass bowl / 1952

This Flygsfors “Coquille” series glass bowl, designed in 1952 by the renowned Paul Kedelv, is an outstanding example of Swedish mid-century modern design.

The piece’s organic form and ruby-red core, encased within thick, clear glass, make it a striking interior accent. The sculptural composition reflects the experimental and artistic direction of Scandinavian glass design in the early 1950s, where form and color were used to create expressive, almost architectural objects.

It is important to note that there is a small visual defect at the base of the bowl—a minor glass chip (see photo), which is typical for glass art of this age and weight. Despite this, the piece retains its sculptural elegance and historical value, offering an opportunity to acquire an iconic piece of Swedish design at a more accessible price.

Size: height 17 cm, width 16 × 14 cm. Price: 35 EUR.
