Porcelain set “Colditz” – GDR export collection (1970s–1980s)
Elegant and classic porcelain set “Colditz” – a refined example of GDR export production from the 1970s–80s.
The set is made of white porcelain with a soft pearlescent sheen, decorated with delicate romantic motifs, gilded ornaments, and scenic compositions on the central elements.
Manufacturer and origin:
The base mark belongs to VEB Porzellanwerk Colditz, one of the largest porcelain factories in the former GDR (East Germany). The green “cp” symbol stands for Colditz Porzellan, while the Cyrillic inscription “КОЛЬДИЦ ФАРФОРИЗГАР” indicates that the set was produced for export to the Soviet Union.
This type of marking was mainly used during the 1970s–1980s.
Condition:
Overall in good vintage condition, with no major damage. Some wear to the gilding is visible, which is typical for porcelain of this age and adds to its authentic vintage character.
A wonderful choice for special everyday use or as an elegant addition to a vintage porcelain collection.
